The wonderful Medinas

The larger towns and cities in Morocco have wonderful old medinas, the original walled villages where the towns begin. They are all still being used today, looking almost the same as they did hundreds of years ago. Intertwined within these very narrow streets are small shops, hotels and riads, a dentist office or two, a barber, and much, much more. Here is where it really helps to know some French or Arabic because you are expected to bargain for everything. Luckily, having local friends here spared me from doing this myself. But what a great way to spend an afternoon looking at all the wonderful items for sale. I was in heaven!
